After 3-car crash, man arrested for drunk driving

On Behalf of | Nov 23, 2018 | Drunk Driving |

A man in Maryland is now facing some serious charges after he was involved in a three-car crash. It happened on Friday, Nov. 16.

According to the Maryland State Police, the man was driving a 2017 Jeep Wrangler when he got to an intersection. It had a flashing red light, meaning he needed to stop before continuing, even if the road was clear. Police say he did not stop at all, running the light and slamming into a Toyota.

The impact was bad enough that both vehicles were completely disabled in the road. That caused a Hyundai SUV to crash into both of them, turning it into a three-car wreck.

Police say that the passenger who was riding in the Jeep suffered injuries, and they found him “lying on the road.” The driver, they say, had already run away from the crash scene, leaving the Jeep behind.

The authorities kept looking for the man, who is 28 years old, and found out that he lived near the crash site. They went to his house and found him there. They claim he was impaired, and so they picked him up on DUI charges.

It is worth noting that the other two people who were driving the Toyota and the Hyundai both wound up at the Queenstown Emergency Room. While they were injured, those injuries are said to be minor.

A simple crash like this can result in very serious charges, even without significant injuries. It is important for those facing charges to get a fair trial and to understand all of their legal rights.
