A Temple Hills man is booked on murder charges for killing a teen

| Sep 21, 2018 | Criminal Defense |

A 22-year-old Temple Hills man was taken into custody by Prince George’s County police officers on Sept. 5 for his alleged involvement in killing a 16-year-old Montgomery County boy during the previous month. He’s currently facing both first- and second-degree murder charges related to the slaying.

Police found the victim on Aug. 6 in a Hyattsville parking lot located near 6700 New Hampshire Avenue. By the time paramedics arrived on the scene, the young man had already expired after having been shot multiple times. It’s unclear whether he had any connection to the area in which he was shot.

The rising junior, who was slated to return to school at Silver Spring’s Montgomery Blair High School never got his chance to start the new academic year. There, he had a spot on the Maryland Seahawks football team roster. Upon learning of this death, the victim’s former coach expressed shock at the senseless killing. He said that his innate ability to lead will be missed.

The defendant who was accused of his murder is currently being held without bond. It’s unclear if he has a prior criminal record or knew the victim beforehand. At the time of his arrest, another 22-year-old alleged accomplice had been identified, but hadn’t been apprehended. Police believe that there may be a third suspect as well.

When you’re facing a serious crime like murder, it’s important to know your rights. As you head to trial in your case, you may also want to be represented by a Clinton criminal defense attorney who is experienced in trying similar types of cases.
