Maryland principal the center of DUI case

On Behalf of | Mar 28, 2018 | Drunk Driving |

Everyone likes to have times when they relax, and sometimes, relaxing comes with drinking alcohol. No matter who someone is, there’s a likelihood that he or she has had a drink in the past. The difference between some people is that they don’t get behind the wheel when others do.

If you get behind the wheel of a vehicle when you’re intoxicated and get caught, you could face serious penalties. Some people, like teachers or school administrators, could face trouble where they work as well. Since they’re meant to be presenting a good example to their students, a mistake could end up costing them a job.

A Maryland catholic school principal has been arrested following allegations that he was driving under the influence. According to the March 22 report, the local principal had been arrested for a run-in with police on Feb. 25. At the time, the 64-year-old man was in Berlin when police pulled him over. The state records revealed that the man was arrested shortly after 3:45 p.m.

The principal faces several charges including blocking a roadway so other vehicles could not pass, driving in a careless and imprudent manner, driving a vehicle while impaired by alcohol and a DUI per se.

If you’re a principal or administrator facing a DUI, make no mistake that a defense can help you protect yourself. A strong defense against a DUI could even help you have the case dropped completely depending on the circumstances, so you can protect your right to keep your job and stay working in the community you love.
