Baltimore police unravel a drug conspiracy in Locust Point

On Behalf of | Jul 7, 2017 | Drug Charges |

A man, along with 10 others, has been caught conspiring to package heroin in a $2,200-a-month luxury apartment. The man is now being held in federal custody.

Suspicions arose back in May, after agents had tracked a person of interest (whom they had seen meet with the man) to the apartment.

Further inquiries showed that the Apartment, a luxury residence in Locust Point, Baltimore, was being rented under a fake name, driver’s license, and contact number.

Agents obtained a search warrant that is commonly known as “sneak and peek”, where they were able to look for further evidence inside. They found a 20-ton hydraulic press, a bag of metal sifters, and a bag full of plastic gloves among other evidence that the DEA says is evidence that can be associated with drug packaging.

Courts then authorized the installment of video cameras in the apartment. What the video cameras showed were people using latex gloves, cutting up heroin and packaging it using a heat sealer. They then watched Adams processing heroin on tape for more than five hours, which confirmed agents’ suspicions.

This led agents to pursue a raid, where heroin, suspected fentanyl and allergy medicine were recovered. They also found that the drug conspiracy has ties to Western Maryland, Hagerstown, North Carolina and South Carolina, which they will continue to investigate.

Police and prosecutors take drug charges extremely seriously, so it’s important to always work with an experienced defense lawyer who can give you the advice and support that you need, no matter what the case involves.
