Four arrested on armed robbery charges

On Behalf of | Jan 24, 2014 | Federal Crimes |

All illegal acts can result in serious charges, but some acts are more serious than others. No matter the charge, a defendant has a right to mount a vigorous defense in a court of law when that days comes. An experienced legal professional can help anyone facing any type of charges.

Four men are facing serious charges after they were arrested after an armed robbery. The alleged incident happened on Jan. 15. According to authorities, the men disarmed two armored truck employees.

After the robbery, a pursuit occurred. The pursuit allegedly started in Prince George’s County near the Checkers restaurant on Allentown Road and headed into Washington D.C. It ended at 34th and M Streets Southeast. According to authorities, the men fired shots at people who attempted to pursue them. One man that was shot at was not injured by his car was struck by bullets.

The exact charges against the men were not revealed. However, robbery weapons charges and fleeing could be charges levied against the men. The possible charges can equate to serious penalties for all the men involved in the accident, depending the acts each man participated in. For example, the person who shot at witnesses or those who tried to pursue the men could have additional charges that perhaps the driver of the vehicle might not face.

Because of the potential of severe penalties these men would be wise to seek assistance in crafting a criminal defense. When facing federal charges, this is not the time to go it alone. Solid legal advice could be the difference between a long jail sentence or lesser charges.
